Misk Art Institute, a subsidiary of the Mohammed bin Salman Foundation “Misk,” has launched the 8th edition of Misk Art Week at Prince Faisal bin Fahd Arts Hall. The six-day event celebrates art and artists, featuring exhibitions, live performances, educational programs, an Art & Design Market, an Art Book Fair, live performances, and an Art Fair. Artists and creatives have access to various opportunities to refine their skills and showcase their work.
Established in 2017, Misk Art Week has evolved into a premier platform for promoting creativity and community engagement, demonstrating the Institute’s commitment to nurturing a vibrant creative community. This year’s edition explores how different media forms and emerging technologies unlock opportunities for artists and the broader community.

Art & Design Market
The Art & Design Market transforms the traditional marketplace into a dynamic creative hub that brings together more than 90 creatives. The market offers a platform where the creative community gathers to explore, engage, and sell unique artworks. This fusion of art and commerce drives innovation and celebrates creativity while curating inspiring experiences, connecting artists with audiences, and making art accessible to all.
Educational Programs
Emerging artists and art enthusiasts can benefit from a range of workshops and masterclasses designed to enhance their skills in photography, graphic design, painting, and more. Additionally, one-to-one mentorship sessions will be available, offering artists the chance to receive expert guidance and advance their projects.

Misk Art Grant 2024: Digital Civilization
Misk Art Grant 2024 invited artists from the Middle East and North Africa to explore the phenomena shaped by modern technology like constant connectivity, data analytics, and algorithmic systems. The Grant recipients critically examined how these advancements have reshaped people’s experiences and engagement with the world.
Digital Civilization investigates the connection between past traditions and tech-driven futures by exploring how advanced technology influences human expression and relationships. It traces the journey of cultural transmission from ancestral narration to technological mediation, showcasing how connectivity has continuously reshaped how people connect.
Through the work of five artists using various mediums—from analog to digital—the exhibition delves into creativity, community, and the evolving relationship between humanity and technology in an era shaped by social media and data transmission.

Seeing Riyadh
Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh has undergone significant transformation over the past decade, with its modern cityscape widely featured across social media. Seeing Riyadh is a group photography exhibition that offers a different perspective on the city, focusing on Riyadh’s public spaces, outskirts, residential areas, and architecture. This exhibition invites visitors to explore Riyadh through the lenses of artists who capture the subtle nuances of historical and contemporary sites—some still in use, others now abandoned.
Through their photographs, Seeing Riyadh reveals an intricate web of human connections, exploring the city’s urban and natural landscapes. It delves into the complex relationship between people and their surroundings, presenting these spaces as repositories of both personal and collective memory. Their works highlight often overlooked yet emotionally significant locales, connecting the distant with the familiar.

Masaha Residency Showcase
Cycle Eight
Masaha Residency is an in-house residency program located in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The program is designed to cultivate the art sector through studio-based opportunities which aid in facilitating discourse, research, and experimentation around themes that concern the local community.
This cycle brings together 12 artists to investigate the subject “Obsolete Technology,” examining universal themes including consumerism, technology, everyday life, and the art of storytelling.

Art Book Fair
The second edition of the Art Book Fair brings together 18 local, regional, and international publishers specializing in Arab art and culture. This vibrant hub will showcase new book releases and host signing events.

About Misk Art Grant
An annual Grant designed to support artists and creatives from the Middle East and North Africa alongside Saudi nationals. The first of its kind in the Kingdom, each edition of the Grant presents a theme, mentorship programs with curators and specialists, as well as technical support.
The grant, valued at SAR 1,000,000 (approximately $266,632), is distributed among 5 to 10 recipients selected by a panel of experts.
